This Privacy Policy explains how Lorevina, Inc. ("Lorevina", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the Lorevina app, the lorevina.com website and related services (the "Services"), and the choices you have.
This summary is here to help. The full policy below is what applies.
Lorevina, Inc., a Delaware corporation based in the United States, is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at info@lorevina.com.
We collect information you give us, information we generate when we provide the Services, information collected automatically, and information from third parties. Depending on how you use the Services, this may include:
Lorevina reads every photo you add. That is how the Services work: reading is what builds your pet's record. Before the first photo is read, the app asks for your permission and names our AI provider.
Readings describe your pet. They do not name, rank or describe the people who may appear in a photo.
Our current AI provider is Anthropic, PBC, whose Claude models read photos on our behalf. Under our agreement, Anthropic may not use your photos to train its models. We may change or add AI providers. When we do, we will update this policy and, where the law or app store rules require it, ask for your permission again.
When you share a card or a photo from the app, it leaves without location or camera data. Once shared, it can be copied or stored by whoever receives it.
We use information for the purposes described in this policy or when we collect it, including to:
We train Lorevina's own AI models on your pet's records only while your research setting is on. We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
"Help pets beyond your own" is a setting in the app, under Settings › Your privacy choices. While it is on, structured observations about your pet's health, behavior and daily life, and the health events you record, may be used to improve Lorevina's own AI models and to support research into how pets live, age and stay healthy.
That work happens across veterinary research, nutrition science, shelters, animal-health AI and pet insurance, and other organizations working to improve animal health and care. Approved partners may receive de-identified, aggregated results, or run approved analyses inside our systems under our controls and receive only aggregated results.
What leaves Lorevina for research is de-identified and always combined with other pets' records. It never includes your photos, your contact details or the vet and emergency contacts you add, and never shows your pet on their own.
In the United States the setting starts on. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it starts off and stays off unless you turn it on. Elsewhere it follows local law. We set the starting point from your app store country or account region.
You can turn it off at any time, and the app works exactly the same either way. Turning it off stops new contributions, and your contribution is removed within 30 days. Aggregated results already produced from many pets' records cannot be undone. A Global Privacy Control signal turns the setting off.
We disclose information as needed to run the Services and as described here:
We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we never sell your photos or your pet's individual record. If the law treats any disclosure as a "sale" or "sharing", you can opt out by turning off "Help pets beyond your own" or by contacting us.
We may create information that is de-identified or aggregated so that it no longer identifies you or your account. We keep it in de-identified form, do not try to re-identify it except to test that our de-identification works or as the law allows, and require anyone who receives it to do the same. We may use and share it for any lawful purpose.
We use cookies, local storage, SDKs and similar technologies to run the Services, remember your preferences, keep forms safe and understand usage. You can control cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work without them. Where the law requires consent for a technology, we ask for it first. There is no common standard for Do Not Track signals, so we do not respond to them, but we honor Global Privacy Control as described in this policy.
Strictly necessary. These keep the website working and secure and do not require consent:
Analytics. These help us understand how the website is used. Where the law requires consent, we use them only if you allow it. When we add an analytics provider, we will name it here.
We update this list as the Services change.
Where these laws apply, we rely on these legal bases: performing our contract with you, including reading your photos, which is how the Services work; our legitimate interests, such as keeping the Services safe and improving them; your consent, including for the research setting; and compliance with legal obligations. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting processing that took place before.
We are based in the United States, and we and our service providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries whose data protection laws may differ from yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.
We keep information for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, and then delete or de-identify it. To decide how long, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the information, the risk of harm from unauthorized use, why we hold it and whether we can achieve that another way, and our legal obligations. In practice:
We may keep information longer where the law requires it, or where it is needed to resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, keep the Services secure, or enforce our agreements.
In the app, go to Settings › Delete account. You can also ask us to delete your account and its data without the app by writing to info@lorevina.com from the email address on your account.
Your account and your pets' records are deleted permanently 30 days after you confirm. Until then, support can restore them. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play: cancel it there to stop the next charge. Export everything first if you want to keep a copy.
In the app you can update your details, correct a reading, export everything in your account (the download link works for 7 days), choose your notifications, turn "Help pets beyond your own" on or off, and delete a pet's record or your account. Reading photos is how Lorevina works, so it is not a separate switch: to stop it, delete your account. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails through the link in any of them; we will still send messages about your account and the Services. Some information, such as an email address, is needed to provide the Services; without it we may not be able to.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know about, access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to opt out of certain disclosures, sale, sharing or targeted advertising, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, use the app or write to info@lorevina.com. We may need to verify your identity and confirm where you live, and some requests may be limited by law. Authorized agents may make requests for you where the law allows. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our response. We will not discriminate against you for using your rights. You may also contact your local data protection authority.
In the past 12 months we may have collected these categories of personal information: identifiers; customer records; commercial information; internet or other electronic network activity; geolocation contained in photo metadata; user content, including photos; and inferences drawn from the information above. We collect them from the sources and for the purposes described in this policy, and disclose them to the categories of recipients in "How we disclose information". We keep each category as described in "How long we keep information".
We have not sold personal information or shared it for cross-context behavioral advertising in the past 12 months, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. Location in photo metadata may be sensitive personal information; we use it only to provide the Services and for other purposes the law permits without a right to limit.
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, and each account's records are kept separate at the database level. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you where the law requires.
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Teens may use the Services only with a parent's or guardian's consent where the law or their app store requires it.
The Services may link to or work with third-party services, such as app stores and sign-in providers. Their own privacy policies apply to them, and we are not responsible for their practices.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new date and version number and, if the changes are material, tell you in the app, by email or as the law requires. Changes take effect when posted, unless we say otherwise.
